Pohaku, used to be a privileged treat bestowed upon the Hawaiian Alii (Royalty). The heated, smooth stones carry warmth deep into the muscles and joints, releasing tension and strain. The Hawaiian people are traditionally deeply connected to the aina (land) and use basalt lava stones for physical and spiritual well being. The Pohaku have always been and still are revered as the “keepers of the spirit.” Pohaku massage has been performed for hundreds of years to address the many levels of healing necessary to help restore balance in body, mind and soul.
